Project Type:Hotels & Residential
Client:Mortar Developments
Value:£22 million
Location:Nottingham
Standing on the grounds of the former Odeon Cinema, the building provides a mixed-use ground floor of retail and leisure space.
The mixed-use development is located in a prominent and sensitive city centre site in Nottingham. The planning application involved dialogue with neighbours as well as a conservation area consultant and presentations to the Nottingham Design Review Panel due to the proximity of the historic library gardens to the side of the site.
Sat upon basement parking levels, the 14 storeys above provide a mixture of student accommodation to meet the demands of the university within the city.
The design was based upon the principle of ‘clusters’ to allow an extremely efficient design in terms of fire engineering.
Differing architectural treatment reduces scale issues between Angel Row and Maid Marion Way.
Feasibility to Planning Approval RIBA Stages 0-3 inclusive.
