The relocation of the Departments of Music and Drama into new premises involved the complex renovation, repair and conversion of three early twentieth century buildings and the construction of a new concert hall. The accommodation provided by the new works includes:

  • The 350 seat Cosmo Rodewald Concert Hall.
  • Specialist audio-visual facilities, performance, workshop, music practice and rehearsal spaces.
  • A state of the art electro-acoustic music suite run jointly with the Royal Northern College of Music.
  • The raked Bragg Lecture Theatre with specialist projection facilities.
  • The Lenagan Library with specialist listening and viewing suites.
  • Lecturer’s offices and ancillary accommodation.
  • Demolition of redundant facilities allowed for the creation of a multi-level atrium foyer across which bridges link the two Departments and within which a new lift serves all floors.
