Project Type:Science & Research

Client:University of Cambridge

Value:£85m

Location:Cambridge

A New 18000m2 Biomedical Research Building on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus. The building is intended to bring together the medical research groups currently located in a number of separate locations across the City and to establish a new centre of excellence for research that will provide a foundation for the development of new medical treatments. The building will provide state of the art laboratory accommodation together with lecture space, an exhibition area and a cafe which will open onto a landscaped courtyard. 330 Cycle parking spaces are to be provided in a timber framed shelter featuring a green roof. The design has evolved to create appropriate spaces for interaction and collaboration within the building combined with a welcoming approach to the building within an appealing landscape.
